WAYNETOWN -- Mrs. Deadi Brown Hancock, 87, a native of Fountain County died at 11 a.m. Friday in Hunting Memorial Hospital at Pasadena, Calif. She was a former member of the Mellott Christian Church. A daughter of John D. and Emma Hen Brown, she was born Dec. 22, 1883 near Mellott. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. James Jancon of San Marino, Calif., and three nieces and a nephew. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Servies-Thomas Funeral Home here, with Rev. Kenneth Brock the minister and burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Source: The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

WAYNETOWN, Ind. (CNS) — Mrs. Deadie Brown Hancock, 87, a former Fountain County resident, died at 11 a.m. Friday (May 14, 1971) in Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, Calif. She was born Dec. 22, 1883 near Mellott, the daughter of John D. and Emma Hem Brown. She was a member of the Mellott Christian Church, but had lived in California for several years with her daughter, Mrs. James Janson in San Amrimo, Calif. Other survivors include three nieces and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband and a sister. Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the Servies-Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. Kenneth Brock officiating. Burial will be in the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. There will be no visitation.  --typed by Walt W
